On July 27 local time, the main works of Batuco Station on the Batuco Railway Project in Chile officially commenced. It is the first of the project's six new stations to enter the main construction phase, marking a transition from preliminary preparation to substantive construction for the station works.

The Batuco Railway Project is located in the northern part of Chile's capital region, spanning 24 kilometers. It is the largest single infrastructure contract in the history of Chile's state railway company. The contract scope includes the construction of a new passenger line connecting the municipalities of Quinta Normal and Batuco, six stations, and six railway bridges, as well as the rehabilitation and renovation of the existing freight railway line. The project will also connect five cities within the capital region and provide transfers to Metro Lines 3, 5, and 7 in the capital. A signing ceremony for the project was previously held on August 25, 2025.

As an important pillar for CRCC International's deep engagement in the Chilean railway market, the project team has placed great emphasis on execution, continuously strengthening overall coordination and resource allocation while promoting close synergy across design, commercial, and construction activities. Focused on the goal of commencing work at the first station, the team overcame challenges such as differences in local standards, complex design interfaces, multiple approval procedures, and difficult material organization. It successively completed site handover, temporary facility construction, construction plan approval, and pre-construction condition verification, laying a solid foundation for the smooth start of the main works.

Chile's state railway company, the supervising unit, and the project team jointly witnessed the commencement of construction.
